Not a major update but an instance of how the DWP seem not only to treat their ‘customers’ with contempt, it looks as though they do the same with MPs.
Note the the department making false declarations in the email at the foot of the page is the “Operational Excellence Directorate” which I presume is ironic. To be honest, in our dealings with the DWP and the hell they put my partner through, I had falsely assumed that they did not have a sense of humour 😉
My MP wrote in to ask questions about some of the problems.
The first image is from an internal DWP list of events at this time. As you can see there were clearly telephone calls logged on 28 & 31/8.
(as a side issue “We had no copy on file” – ATOS sent me the copy that they did have on file and also the DWP themselves wrote to me in May to tell me that this document was not fit for purpose)
When the Ministerial Team contacted the DWP, their calendar events strangely stopped on 28/8:
The ministerial team questioned these omissions:
The DWP response was to completely avoid the question about the phone call and just mention an unsuccessful call on 29/8.
The DWP response was also to lie: “Her records show that the report cannot be removed” (ICE instructed them in no uncertain terms to remove this report and it was eventually done 2 months later)
Sadly the ministerial correspondence team did not question this further and sent an incomplete and erroneous response to my MP
